Hi all, From compression checks, I believe I have broken one or more rings
in the third cylinder. Other than being a mosquito fogger, and planning to
rebuild engine later, is there any problem with driving my car? TIA

I have had experience with such a situation, albeit with a "race prepped"
1147cc Spitfire engine. Once I got around to disassembling the motor to certify

the reason for the mosquito-fogging, I watched as no fewer than seven pieces
of compression ring fell out atop the block as I removed the #1 piston. Not
good. But fortunately no harm had come to either piston or cylinder wall. Some
quick spec checks, honing and a set of TotalSeal-converted rings...and I was
back in business.
That said, I wouldn't chance it for long.

*Man: Well, no ... It's not so much of a jet, it's more your, er,
Triumph Herald engine with wings.
