Well folks we were ALL wrong... It was not a piston It was not a valve It was...a cracked head!! ARRRRGGGGHHHH...magnaflux showed deep crack between intake and exhaust valve on cylinder #4, extended from bottom of head up through the exhaust valve seat...fortunately Triumphs Only had good used heads, Wayne even picked out two of the best, told me to check them out and return the one we did not use...can't ask for better service than that... -- Bill Pugh 1957 TR3 aka Casper Wallace, CA |
