Seems to be the quality of the paint job that counts........not the type or
kind of paint.........(and I would think that the colour would have to be
correct for that year!)
e.g. "According to the TRA guide"....smoothness, even application, color
consistency, clarity, luster and wear (chips and scratches) Ref: "TRA
(Triumph
Register of America) Judging Standards & Restoration Guidelines". I would
recommend you get their manual if you are restoring.......available from Lou
Metelko, Auburn, Indiana......LMTR4A@CTLNET.COM ......I paid $30 a year ago
(which included postage)......$30 very well spent!!! Invaluable!!!
I'm sure you have Robert Bentley, Inc.'s "The Complete Official Triumph TR4 &
TR4A 1961-1968"....which includes the driver's hand book, WORKSHOP MANUAL and
competition preparation manual........If not, quelle dommage, you now must
buy them seperately........you do need the 'Work Shop Manual".....and
unfortunately, it is now $60......but you gotta have it if you're gonna own a
TR4 or
4A, and work on your own car, or even if your mechanic is gonna work on your
car and doesn't have one!........ www.robertbentley.com.......
Have fun!!!
