Towing stuff with a TR4?
Sure why not? It's got a Nice stout frame. Pretty stiff rear springs.
God knows the engine's got a good amount of Torque and a hefty flywheel.

When I went to . .what race track was that? VIR?
Yeah that's it .. .
When I went there a TR-4 race car caught my eye.

It was all by its lonesome and there wasn't the usual RV or tow vehicle
around.
What was around it was a small trailer with a big Triumph motorcycle on it,
a set of wheels / tires, a tool box and a Windshield assembly.

I investigated further . . .

Sure enough, the guy had rigged up a trailer hitch to his TR4 and had towed
his trailer up from Georgia to Virginia.
Once at the track . he dropped the trailer, removed the windshield, changed
the wheels . .and he was ready to race.
That car wasn't modified very much at all either.
It did have twin H8 carbs on it. (maybe they were HS8 .. whatever they were
2" ers)
But it still had a generator and maybe even the big cast 4A manifold.
Wood dash .. everything was still there.
He had changed out the seat of course to one suitable for racing.

Man was that ever cool.
I'd love to do that.

Oh by the way . . . his trailer hitch was very iffy in my opinion.
He had removed the rear bumper and left the bumper brackets in place.
Then he put a bar spanning from one side to the other and mounted the
trailer ball on it.
I suppose the springiness of the brackets could actually be a good thing.
I sure hope he re-enforced where those brackets actually attach to the frame
though.

Regardless of what I think, this setup had obviously been working for this
guy for a while.

Cheers!
