Message text written by "Glenn Coughenour" >When installing new brake pipes to new wheel cylinders and other system parts, is there any sealant recommended for the threads, e.g. teflon tape? < Flare fittings do not seal at the threads. They seal at the point where the flared end of the tube contacts the bottom of the tapped hole in the cylinder. The only thing you might consider is a little antisieze on the threads so that when you take it back apart 40 years from now it will be easier. Take car to not get any where it can mix with the brake fluid. Dave |
