The "STC-65" plate indicates that the car was essentially "retitled" as a
1965 model. More than likely, the car was built sometime in the middle of the
1964 calendar year and, for whatever reason(s), sat around at the distributor
or
dealer awhile without being sold as a '64. Back then, it was perfectly legal
to "retitle" new cars to the next model year.
