I screwed up royally yesterday and mangled a part for my distributor.
The part for my '70 TR6 that is no longer worthy is the action plate for
my Lucas 22D distributor. I'd rather not elaborate what I did to break
it, but I do need the list's wisdom. Some of you may remember my recent
post complaining of a high rpm miss; I suspected many things, but
decided to take my Petronix unit out to eliminate it. That's where the
trouble started.
Anyway, I also suspect that prior to my laying on hands, that the
distributor could have used a good refurbishing. So I'm not sure what
to do.
On one hand, I would like to know if anyone has an old distributor
laying around that they are willing to part with or the part itself.
But I also am not confident that if I inserted a replacement part that
the rest of the distributor would be in spec.
BTW, the part I'm speaking of is #17 on page 263 of the green TRF parts
catalogue.
