TR4- Differential - Front Oil Seal

What is collective wisdom on the the right method and/or tool to remove the 
front differential oil seal, in this case a solid axle TR4A.  FYI, the diff is 
in the car with all the necessary bits removed.  Does one attack it with a 
large screwdriver, or is it time to add a new tool to the collection?
