Huh ? The TR3 mounts on a flat metal panel, nothing is recessed.

Actually, it is. When Triumph says 2:1, they mean the ratio between the
tach cable and the crankshaft. When Mallory says 1:1, they mean the ratio
between the tach cable and the distributor shaft. Guess what the ratio
between the distributor shaft and the crankshaft is ...

Was just a thought. Wonder how hard it would be to put a TR2-4 mechanism
behind a TR6 face plate ?
BTW, your replies seem to be converted to HTML, and not have the trailers
