Missed opportunities!

One thing that haunts me is the conversion from Offenhauser to Ford at
Indy in the early sixties.  I remember everyone being enthused that the
small block Ford had come into it's own in the racing circles.  What
bothers me is that there was a ton of Offenhauser equipment that went
onto the shelf.  What happened to this?  Wouldn't it make a nice
conversion for an early '60s TR?
