Listerati : The last few thousand TR3Bs (TCF series) were fitted by the factory with the same 4-synchro gearbox used in the TR4, which is roughly 1/2" longer than the 3-synchro "crash box" used in the TR2-early 3B. Does anyone know how this difference in length was accounted for ? Was there a special rear cross member ?
