Many silicone 'sealers' actually emit acetic acid as they cure. If the acid
is trapped against metal, it can definitely cause corrosion (especially to
copper). However some of them don't emit acid and are "copper safe".
Safest thing is to follow your bead blaster's advice, and use a product
designed for your purpose.
