John, another alternative you might consider is a leather cover for your
wood/metal wheel.  Not the cheap junk sold at Pep Boys, but an honest,
glove-leather cover that gets laced onto the wheel.  I have one on my TR3A,
bought many years ago from Moss USA, and every time I drive the car after
driving something else, I notice how nice it feels.
