Hello fellow UBSCC members & British car enthusiasts, it is I, your
loyal and faithful
uh, I don't know what you want to call me. I know
what SOME people call me, but I don't think that is appropriate for
inner-club writing. Ahem, it is I, Kenda, your selected voice of
doom for our amazing and wonderful car show. (That's better.)
I want to give all of you an update on the progress of our 2003 All
British Motorcar Show and Swap Meet. (If I could have a booming
voice for that last part, I would, so please insert your own mental
sound effects.) The registration deadline for T-shirts is April
18th. You have 10 glorious days to reserve your very own high
quality shirt with the never before seen logo for this year's show.
A few folks registered their cars, but forgot to mark shirt requests,
so please feel free to send in a check with a note of how many you
would like and what sizes your require. Don't forget, these shirts
are only available to those who pre-order and may not be available at
the show. They are THAT COOL!!! Next year they might be on E-Bay,
and coveted much like the King Bobble Heads! Don't miss out.
Early event registration is due by May 8th. We have many car classes
set already, but we are missing all Triumph classes except for "TR-3
& 3A's" and "Spitfires." We are close to getting a Morris class, but
I need more to know how they will be set. Registered your car now
and get a class set, unless you want your TR-6 up against a Rolls!
Don't forget that three like cars set a class, so tell your friends
to register too. Oh, all the MG's will be with the TR-6's if we
don't receive more registrations for them as well!
There is still some space left on our swap field for business
vendors. If you haven't sent in your registration, please hurry. We
have many new vendors that are coming to the show, so the prime spots
are filling fast. I will reserve your normal space if you
pre-register. After that, I can't promise anything. The swap field
will be filled with new and exciting things, so make sure you are a
part of it. As a business vendor, we will list your company in our
advertising and on the web site, so get your name in now. Why not
donate something to the raffle and be listed as a sponsor?
Businesses and individuals are invited to act as sponsors. Contact
Jim Messineo or me for more information.
We are still looking for items to put into the participant goodie
bags. Do you have flyers or information you would like included? Do
you know any cool things we could get from businesses? I'm looking
for anything from chewing gum to grease remover. What samples could
be inserted for participants to try? Brainstorm and let me know your
ideas. I'll take anything!
We are on target for showing 200+ cars again, but in order to secure
that number, I need all of you to help. Please, send in your
registration now so we can set the classes and start making the bulk
of the trophies. Everyone can help when it comes to sending in
registrations. Also, please tell your fiends to register now. This
is the easiest part of helping to make the show a great success!
Cheers!
