The danger for either location is that the associated shaft will somehow
move while you're adding oil. Fairly unlikely I would think, provided you
don't turn the drivetrain at all. BTW, I was wrong before, the upper one is
a locating pin for the shaft that the reverse selector rides on; not a
pivot. The 4-synchro box has the pivoting lever. So, since the lower one
is below the normal oil level, you could probably use the upper one. I
think with either one, the going will be slow as you're forcing the oil
through some fairly small openings inside.
Mike's suggestion of using one of the lockout switch holes is probably a
better idea.
