If the property is rented, you may have some recourse against the owner.
I've no idea what the laws are like in Canada, but in California you would
have a fair chance of collecting damages from them. Also check your
renter's insurance (if you have any) and your car insurance (likewise).

Is there any chance you can get at least some heat in there ? Even a big
light bulb would help greatly in getting things dried out (ice will
evaporate, just not as fast as liquid water).
Obviously, get in there ASAP with a shop vac and/or air hose to dry
everything as much as you can. The dehumidifier suggestion is also a good
one (but again you have to have a source of power).

They're most likely OK, especially if they had oil in them. Warm them up if
you can, drain the oil (if warming is not possible, I'd probably pull the
top cover and stand the tranny on it's face, so any water will run out) and
replace with new. Turn the shafts by hand to get everything coated again,
it will probably be fine.
