Umm, I think I zipped on by the original query on this because it 
came in when I didn't have much time to read it.  But if this is the 
sliding "energy-absorbing" bracket I'm thinking of, I seem to recall 
remembering that I think I read a spec for it of 90 ft-lbs.  I went 
through this years ago because when I first got my Spitfire that 
bracket was loose.  Don't recall if I actually torqued it or not but 
I do think I remember trying to get it really snug.
