Bill, On the advise of my machine shop... guy he did the same thing to my TR4A head. My TR4 has a late TR4A engine. I used the bigger TR4A valve stem type valves and the better bronze guides. The more modern bronze guides are needed to accomadate the smaller amount of oil bleeding down the valve stem. My car runs the entire driving season without adding any oil... period.
