John, it can definitely be converted, IF you can find the right components.
The tailshaft housing gets removed, the mainshaft has to be changed (this is
one of the hard parts, finding a J-type OD mainshaft that matches the rest
of your gearset), and the shifter housing (top cover) has to be drilled and
tapped for the lockout switch (if it isn't already). Changing the mainshaft
of course means a fairly complete teardown of the gearbox.
I believe (not certain) you'll also need the bracket between the OD and rear
motor mounts.
Then of course you'll need an operating switch and wiring.
