Aaargghh!
Funnily enough, I was very impressed with one Brit's knowledge of cars
earlier this year. The Dimbleby (Richard? David?) who was commentating
on the Golden Jubilee procession for the BBC had clearly done very
little homework about what he was to say about the hundreds of different
things that were passing his commentary box, and relied heavily on his
guests to keep the flow of information going. When the "old cars" came
up the Mall, none of his guests had a clue what they were, and Dimbleby
was forced to try to identify them all on his own. I think he got
about 85% right. Not bad at all.
