Jay is absolutely right. I should have mentioned it before - get a quality
respirator at the paint store with the correct elements for the paint you're
using. Don't rely on the cheap, surgical-style masks that they sell for
sanding etc...
The beautiful thing about doing it with HVLP is how much more efficient it
is than an old fashioned gun. I forget the exact numbers right now but I
believe it's close to 80% transfer of materials to the work surface compared
to something like 30-50% from an old style gun. This of course means less
material floating around in the shop to worry about - much easier on the
lungs especially since you will be wearing a respirator.
