Hi guys,
I took the TR3B out for her first run of the summer today. Barely made it to
the Gas Station since she was running very poorly. I didn't think to much
about it since the gas was nearly a year old. But new 94 octane didn't
improve things much. I brought her back, cleaned and reset the points and
noted that the distributor shaft is just a tiny bit loose. Still running
like crap so I pulled the plugs. Number 1, 2, and 4 looked good just like
you want them with light brown deposits. Number 3 however was black as coal
with heavy carbon deposits. I installed a fresh set of Bosch Platin plugs
and she took off like a champ. I took her for a 50 mile run and number 3
looks OK. Any thoughts on the source of carbon fouling in one cylinder?
Thanks in advance,
Darrell
