I like steel.

id), from the pump to the carbs is 1/4" od. The fittings at the carbs are
1/4" od, so if you run 5/16" up there you'll need some sort of adapter.

The 1/4" stuff from Home Depot is 'soft' tubing, it's prone to work harden
and crack over time.
