  All of the above are great ideas... With "Murphy being an optimist" rest 
assured that whatever you bring you will most likely need the thing you've 
left at home;) That being said I usually travel with an old set of points 
that are still good, a fan belt, hoses... Brake fluid, a pastic jug for 
water my traveling tool kit (which includes a wire stripper spare wire and 
spade connectors... and My AAA card.

Of all of the above, I recommend the cell phone and AAA card. If you go for 
AAA+ membership you get 125 miles of free towing which will get you home in 
most cases...
