Dear All,

I'm looking for some advice. At some point in the future (probably
next winter), I'd like to buy a TR6. I currently run a Spitfire 1500,
which I love, but I'd like something a little less likely to disappear
under an SUV at a roundabout as well.

Being based in the UK, it would appear that I will need to pay about
twice as much for a 6 as I would if I lived in the US or Canada. Initial
research on the web shows that really nice TR6s can be found priced
between GBP5000 and GBP12000 in UK, and between USD4000 and USD10000 in
US/Canada. That raises two questions right away:

What are the costs and problems associated with re-importing a TR6 from
the Colonies?

What on earth can make GBP7000-worth of difference between two cars,
each described as practically mint? (One thing I have noticed is that
the cheapest cars are always Maple Brown. Surely that can't be the
only difference, though?)

More questions will no doubt follow as I investigate further, but I
think those will do for starters...

Any and all advice gratefully appreciated.

ATB
