Tom,
I had the same problem last winter in my garage. Fortunately one made a nest
in the side exhaust pipe off the header on my TR3A.
The first time I started it the mouse hit the garage wall fairly hard along
with a bunch of nest material (thankfully not upholstery) I believe the
tailpipe mouse told the others as I haven't had anymore mice. One of my
neighbors suggested a hungry black snake but all the damned thing would eat
was blue birds so I had to send him down the road.
Try the moth balls--can't hurt!
Doug Ross
Rosebud Racecar (mouse free for the present)
P. S. I feed deer in my front yard and the damned mouse was storing deer corn
on the manifold (no it didn't pop!) would have made a better story if it had.
