It alsmost sounds like the rear end is loose and shifting.  Any chance 
you forgot to tighten down the 'U' bolts?  I guess first thing I would 
get the car on a lift and seriously look at the rear suspension and 
fastenings.  I would do some serious pushing & prising just to see if 
anything shifts.
