Bill,
>1. Does anyone have a source for new plexiglass rear windows for TR3
factory
>hardtops?
Paul at British Motor Cars (270-825-2994) down in Kentucky used to
remanufacture them. I'm not sure if he lost his source or what, when I
tried to order one he said it didn't look good for getting any more and he
didn't seem to want to talk about it. If you talk to him and he has gotten
them again let me know, I want one too. TRF's latest missive indicates they
are working on them again too, but they've been doing that for the 12+ years
I've had my car. I placed one on backorder just in case. You'd think
someone across the pond would have done this, but maybe they got all the ODs
and we got all the hard tops! Once again, if you find a source let me know.
I polished mine and will be using it, stress cracks and all if I can't find
a replacement.
>2. Has anyone put an insulated headliner in a TR3 factory hardtop?
Got the new replacement from TRF. Haven't tried to install it yet though,
top is still bare metal
>3. Awhile back I read about the measurements for the webbing fasteners on a
>late TR3 soft top. Can someone post them again please. Maybe there is a
>trick to setting it up.
Teriann's web site I believe.

>4. I haven't thought much about tops before. Do you have to remove and fold
>the top for storage or can it fold down with the bows? If you leave the top

>stick cover if you use a tonneau?
AFAIK you have to remove the top and place it in the trunk or behind the
seats. Tonneau fits just fine over the top bows, so does the hard top if
you're lazy like me. Tonneau is for driving, hoodstick cover is for
showing!
>5. What goes against the inside of the cockpit on the side forward of the
>doors? (The panel that would be forward of the door).
I'm guessing you're talking the kick panels? In front of the door below the
dash? Vynil covered board type material that matches the rest of the
interior. These were included in the panel kit I got from TRF. I have my
old ones you could use for a pattern. I think you have a post TS60K car but
I don't think these changed.
>6. Has anyone found a local source for a better heater core? I've read the
>suggestions in TRSC's "Tech Talk". (Might have been SCTOA).
No, I've heard some type of old jeep heater core will work, you could try a
helpful autoparts store with catalogs that have pictures or drawing and
specs. OTOH, I've never had a problem with the amount of heat I got out of
mine, even as a daily driver in the winter in Colorado, especially with the
hard top on. (anyone need a set of slightly used bias-ply studded snow tires
for a 3?)
