Now that I have my engine dissassembled, I'm making
a list of what I need to get her on the road again and I
find myself dreaming of more power. What if I went with
a hotter cam, say something along the lines of the S2
grind that the competition manual describes. I could also
go for a set of rods (lightened, trued, shot peened, etc),
and a crank (micropolished, balanced, etc), and of course
I'll need a hightweight set of forged pistons with rings.
and while I'm at it I may as well shave another .040" off the
head to bring the compression up to 10:1. And of course
with all of this extra stress I'll need a complete roller rocker
setup and proper bearings for the camshaft and proper race
quality hardened tappets... Where would you, dear listers,
go to get some of these components? Also, if anyone knows
of a machine shop in the Northern California area that can
provide some assistance I'm all ears.
