this may not be the best way but it worked for me. I put calipers from my TR4
into a pot of water on the stove and cooked them for awhile. Then while still
hot used two flat head screw drivers and leveraged each piston out using the
two screw drivers simultaneously from both sides of the piston. The piston
has the rubber boot groove that's easy to a fit flathead screwdriver in. You
have good access from a couple of indented areas from the inner view of
caliper.
ps; Although the calipers get pretty hot in use - don't overcook because
there is the O rings in the split caliper halves that you are supposed to
leave untouched.
ps2; don't let the calipers sit for months like I did afterward as they rust
easier when cleaned so well! I should have reassembled 'within the year'
using clean brake fluid and Girling Hydraulic 'Red' Grease to protect raw
castings.

Subject: front brake calipers -- stuck
I'm In the process of rebuilding the front calipers...The pistons are
frozen/stuck in place. I've applied 80+ pounds of air pressure to no
avail -- would greatly appreciate some helpful hints to free them up.
