I am about to investigate the reason that my (J-Type) overdrive works in all 4 gears - I suspect because the inhibitor switch is bypassed or faulty. To do this I need to remove the cover over the gearbox/overdrive. My book says something like 'break the seal and lift off the cover' (after many other stage). My questions is - what forms this seal, and what can I use to re-form it? Will a gasket sealant do, or do I need something else? Thanks Paul 74 TR6 Cape Town |
