COMAR 11.14. et all. Motor Vehicle Administration - Vehicle Inspection
I'd suggest you go to your county library and have the reference librarian show
you COMAR (Code Of MAryland Regulations) and this one specifically. It's
long and best understood in book form. If you want it on line, go to
http://209.15.49.5/dsd_web/comar_web/subtitle_chapters/11_Chapters.htm#Subtitle14
The inspection process is rather absurd. And wear through of the rubber
brake pedal pad and you flunk, but your ball joints and tie rod ends can have
their boots shreaded. Jagged edged holes in the body flunk, but if you grind
them smooth you pass. Etc.
Ask around in your area for who does an inspection with a sense of inteligence.
I've seen car totalled by one garage (where the repair costs exceed the value
of the vehicle), and get taken to another and need only a few dollars worth of
repairs.

I think that I finally have my 1978 Spitfire ready for inspection after
what seems three short years. My question for the list is where can I
find out what is going to be inspected on my car. I know that
everything is suppose to work, but can anyone send me a list or better
yet a Vehicle Inspection form from Maryland so I can have a clue of what
I am suppose to check before I go.
Thanks
John
