I have had three of the seals (from both Moss & TRF) and all have had the
word "back" centered on the underside (cowl) side of the seal.

Maybe someone already mentioned this small detail, but the rubber below the 
windshield is sided.  The top of the T of the cross section profile (which 
slides into the windshield frame) is not perpendicular to the long dimension

of the profile which rests on the scuttle to make the seal.  Installed 
incorrectly the seal will not rest on the scuttle correctly and may lift off

at some points.  Installed correctly it will be a little concave on the 
outside, pressing tightly against the scuttle.

Soap up the rubber to make installation a little easier. 


Also just to repeat an important message, the small mounting screws affixing

the stanchions to the frame will crack the glass if installed incorrectly.  
The lengths of the attaching screws are NOT the same top to bottom.
