Tony,
servicing all the cylinders when one fails might not have been a ploy. At
LAPD garages, if any vehicle has a flat, Every tire on the vehicle is
replaced, theory being that what caused the failure in the one unit might
have damaged the others and failure would result at the most inopportune
moment.
