4 BTDC, when I installed the "Ignitor, the timing was now at 15 ATDC, this
seems like a big difference, should it be that much ? I reset it for 4 BTDC
at she runs excellent in all 4 gears. Any thoughts. Thanks "FT"

Fred,

It is all in where you mount the pickup. If the pickup is being activated
slightly before or after the points used to open the timing will be off.

I have never installed an ignitor but I have installed a few Cranes and the
brackets supplied are rudimentary at best and pick-up location is totally
up to the installer. It is possible to install it to fire when the rotor
is nowhere near a distributor cap pole. Installing on such that the timing
is not effected is extremely difficult if not impossible. If the pick-up
location is not positively indexed to the breaker point pivot setting it
exactly accurate is well nigh impossible.

In otherwords: situation normal.

Dave
