Ebay is just the world's biggest garage sale - one man's junk is another
man's treasure. Whether someone else is trying to boost values by bidding on
their own items shouldn't really have an effect on what you bid on - it's up
to each person to decide how much they are willing to pay. The fact that
some items often get sold on Ebay for more than what they cost new (or in
the case of the TR6 interior installation guide from Vic Brit, for FREE)
shouldn't matter to what you yourself think you want to pay for some item.
Then again, this is our hobby, and no-one ever said hobbies are cheap. I'm
just glad I don't collect baseball cards, or I'd be mortgaging my home (&
everything else) for the Honus Wagner card Ebay was touting this morning
(likely to sell for over $600k USD!!) ;-) Cheers, JD
