Here's my two cents...

If it weren't for the fact that my wife wouldn't let me give my kids a ride
in my '67 Spitfire without one, I'd remove the rollbar I recently installed.
I can't comment specifically about the questions you've raised because I'm
sure that TR6's are different than Spitfires and perhaps roomier in the
cockpit.

In my case, the rollbar does in fact restrict seat movement; it's also
wearing holes in my newly reupholstered seats from the friction of rubbing
against them; and will undoubtedly crack my skull or at the very least, give
me a concussion if I ever get rear-ended.  The bar clearance seems to be
less than an inch from the top of my head, leaving me to wonder just how
much protection it would actually afford me in a rollover to begin with.
