Your description is generally good, but......
Lead number 2 is "power" from the battery.
Lead number 1 is ground thru the switch.
E screw is continuously connected ground. (this is the one that allows
"parking" after the switch is turned off)
If you connect your battery across #1 and E, there will be smoke and cursing.
