The way I always do it, is much as you say, change oil/filter, etc. But
what I do is remove that sparkplugs, squirt oil into the cyliners, then,
with the plugs still out, just let the engine crank until you get an oil
pressure reading (any will do.) Then replace plugs, and fire her up!
