I caught up on reading on yesterday's plane ride. The
BIOs are great. Here's mine:
Joe Flake. 45. Norcross, GA (NE Atlanta). Wife Janice and I
have two sons, aged 8 and 10.
I grew up in NC (near Charlotte), moved away after college to
Delaware for a few years, then a long stretch in Columbia, SC,
and now a long stretch in Atlanta.
I deal with computers and their software to pay the bills, and
have ranged from hardware design to software work to sales with
lots of variations in between. Currently I'm a technical member
of a sales team. I've grown older with cpu technology, starting
with the 4-bit Intel 4004 and evolving upward to the 64-bit stuff
I deal with today.
I learned to get greasy fingernails and busted knuckles with
my first car: a 1953 Ford sedan family hand-me-down. (It's still
parked in a shed at my mom's, with thoughts of either a restoration
or street rod project some day.) I later drove and worked on
VWs for many years. My TR6 was purchased to replace the
motorcycle I'd owned for many years, but seldom rode. The TR6
is a '72, and I've owned it for about nine years.
I've been on the Triumph list since it began, and on the British
cars list for several years before that. I saw a note about the
list on rec.autos in '88 or '89 (when you could keep up with
a newsgroup!), and have subscribed pretty much continuously
ever since.
Other hobbies and activities include: woodworking, photography,
ham radio (N4BGQ), keeping up with kids sports (currently soccer
and baseball), and avoiding as much yardwork as possible.
Cheers,
Joe
