Pos eart and tools

I'm guessing Pos. earth had something to do with electrical practice current
(no pun intended) when automobiles were being developed.  I wonder if
telegraphs were set up with positive earth?

As far as tools and wives go, some wives never learn to appreciate a good
tool.
