Has anyone tested their temp gage and measured the gage readings
for various resistances at the temp sender?

My gage rides at about 75% scale when it is fully warmed up (winter
or summer, slightly higher on hot days in traffic; 180 degree thermostat without
skirt).

I just tested my gage by inserting various resistors instead of the sender.

I found:

OHMS READING
100 25%
73 45%
55 57%
50 66%
43 90%
33 90%
22 100%

Therefore, a sender resistance of around 60 ohms would be around 50% scale.
Any idea of the "proper" sender resistance for 180 degrees (F)?

I'd get more sophisticated, but my electronic ohmmeter seems to not read
correctly (takes a long time to stabilize at a questionable reading), and
my old analog ohmmeter was never calibrated absolutely...

Any info/help/insight here would be useful.

I'd like to have my gage read at 50% when at correct operating temp.....
