At an LBC show last year I listened to two Triumph owners discuss a problem
with body panel alignments. They agreed that the error was due to taking all
the panels and body parts off - painting them - then trying to reassemble
them. They said that the body should have been left intact.

Reading Practical Classics book "Triumph TR6 Restoration" they begin with a
basket case which has very few salvageable body parts. Their restoration is
"from the ground up"!

The list has been describing various methods that "dippers" use which all
seem to leave the body intact. Either suspended or dipped using a basket
type platform.

I'm looking for some guidance as to how far I should tear the car down. Work
on one quarter of the car at a time to maintain relative positions of body
panels? I'm sure it "all depends" on the degree of rust, but are there any
guidelines you would suggest?
