tranny swaps?

     Hi list,
               I know there has been a lot of traffic and info about this
question, but I wasnt paying attention since my projects were different. A
friend has just informed me that he found a TR7 w/ 5 speed tranny. Will it
work in a Spit or GT? Mounting to the frame is not to hard, but will it mate
up to the other motors without too much trouble? Thanks for the info in
advance.
