Well the saga of the non removable rear hubs on my TR4 axles is over.
After trying all the tricks that were forwarded to me from fellow listers I
came to the conclusion that I just didn't have the equipment to do the job. I
probably spent about 4 hours trying everything and was getting no where
fast. I did come up with an elegant solution though. Since I had to travel
to Denver this week for meetings in the office I just through the two axles in
the back and stopped at an LBC shop when I got to town and had THEM
remove the hubs! I know thats cheating but it was either that or try and
figure out how to make the car go without rear axles.

Lee Janssen mentioned that Paul Dierschow (of Scotland Yard, Denver
fame) was still in business. He forwarded me the address and off course an
incorrect phone number. After blindly hunting for his shop I finally found
it. I got to watch the hub removal process. NOT a pretty sight!

Paul still has an original Triumph hub puller in his possession. It was an
interesting process to watch. After tightening the puller lug nuts on with
an impact he used an impact to tighten down the lead screw. Once he got
enough tension on it he laid the axle down in a groove in the concrete and
proceeded to wack the lead screw with a 12 lb sledge. He repeated the lead
screw tightening, wacking process about four times and bingo the hub
popped. Of course the axle slid across the floor about four feet each time
he hit it with the sledge! But for $10 bucks an axle I now have hubs that are
ready to have new seals put into them!

For those of you in the Denver area Paul Deierschow's shop is at 7995 W
48th ave. Thats on the south side of I70 just east of Carr street. His phone
# is 303-422-9272. I dealt with Paul when I was doing my 64 Spitfire
restoration back in 87 and 88. I consider him one of the good guys in this
hobby.
