In addition to our TR3 and my much maligned, but strong running, 1989 Chevy
Cavalier daily beater, we own a Saab 1988 9000S. The seat heaters are truly
awesome and would be a great addition to any car that had the
generator/alternator capacity, EXCEPT MY LBC.
There would be something missing from those near freezing temperature
drives, now taken with the toneau half erected and the Smiths heater
whirring away. Yes, seat heaters are an awesome way to keep warm, and the
SAAB ones will just about burn my buns when they are set on high (three
settings), but not in an LBC. Sorry.
BTW - they are also great for that "old fart" lower back pain too. Drop the
cabin temp down low and crank the seat heater up high for a couple hour
trip. Very nice.
