Hello TR 2-6 OD owners. If you are lacking the 6" x 4" metal cover plate
that goes on the right side of the transmission tunnel I may be able to
help you. These plates are used to allow a large access hole to the speedo
cable (and angle drive), and to give clearance for the bend in the cable
in non-angle drive models. The plates are not available from the parts
places and used originals are apparently very scarce.
I have made some molds to cast fiberglass replicas of the metal plate. If
you are interested in having one, please email me. If there is sufficient
interest I will make some more. It is a messy job, but somebody has to
do it! The price will simply my cost and will depend on volume (do I buy a
small
amount of material (expensive) or a large amount (cheaper))
The number available will depend on the survival of my molds. I can always
make more molds, but it IS another messy job.
If there is a TON of interest, I will investigate the possibility of injection
molding high strength plastic!
