Hello Tom and good luck if you try to make your own. I fairly recently did
just that and it wasn't particularly easy. What I did was buy two four ft.
lengths of steel brake line because I couldn't find one single piece long
enough. This was probably a bit of a blessing as trying to tread a single
piece would have been much more difficult. I spliced the lines with a
standard brake line "splice connection" I.e. a double female brake line
coupler. The body is off of my frame at this time which I am sure made the
job easier. The biggest difficulty that I had was making the bends in the
correct direction at the correct length. I probably should have paid more
attention in geometry class but if you are the type who is very good a three
dimensional imaging then it will be a walk in the park. I am not so I had
some difficulty, but in the end I am pleased with the results. I put the
splice about three inches forward of the rear breast plate, as it seemed to
be the easiest place to put it, and worked forward and backward from there.
If you have any more questions give me a shout. Good luck Craig Bentley
