Dave,
I found the properground strap in place as you suggested
running from the engine to the engine to the frame. On
mine it bolted to the frame near the engine mount, but not
_to_ the engine mount. =
Now the question of WHY the original ground strap is not conducting
properly. It suggests that there is a poor connection from the body
to the frame, since the frame-to-engine connection _appears_ OK.
I have no good way to find out except for trying to remove the additional=
strap and see if the original suffices. I doubt it will since the new
one seems to conduct so much current that it gets HOT. Probably I will
devise a way to ground the body to the frame with a short, heavy strap
near the original strap....
Any suggestions about why the original one might not be functioning adequ=
ately?
