Malcolm, there are some Volvos (B-18 engine mostly, I think) that used SU
HS-6 carbs. Not that these are all that easy to find nowadays, as the B-18
was last used in U.S.-market Volvos around 1968. ISTR that Volvo switched
to the Z-S CD175s when the B-20 engine was introduced, then for a time
went back to SUs, but in HIF6 form. (And we all thought it was tough
keeping track of TR4 carb changes!)
And from what I remember of Hitachi-SUs, they're not "perfect" copies of
SUs, so I'm not sure each and every little bit is interchangeable between
the two brands.
